Sean about his work on set

Your job on set:
Core Second Team (Stand In), Photo Double, and Off-Camera Reader

Short description what are you doing on set:
I primarily stood in for Jesse Lee Soffer

How long are you working for Chicago PD?
I worked Seasons 3 & 4.

My day on set

When are you usually on the set in the morning?
Monday Call was usually between 5-7am, then as the week pushed on we’d start slightly later depending on turn around times.

How long do you work on a production day?
Typically between 12-14 hours.

How many days are you on set per week?
Most weeks I was there every day.

What do you like most about your job?
Getting to watch and learn from talented professionals both in front of and behind the camera every day. That was a privilege.

What’s the worst thing about your job?
Every day you’re working is a good day, even when it’s 10 degrees in Chicago and you’re standing outside for 12 hours.

Other people should learn this job, because…
Well, It’s a question that is so specific to the individual. For me, as an actor/musician who was looking for any way to get real world experience on a major production, I treated the job like a class. I was there to watch, learn, network and figure out my next move. My position wasn’t a career position, it was transient. Anyone who is interested in the film industry, but maybe doesn’t quite know what they’d like to study, may consider doing Second Team work for a period of time. It will give you an understanding of how a film set operates, how the departments work together and you’ll probably make some amazing friends along the way!
